There were many nuggets of wisdom that resonated with me during this Ted Talk by Simon Sinek, but this quote in particular got me thinking - "People don't buy what you do, they buy why you do it."
It's probably something many of us know, but we haven't figured out how to practice it yet - share your passion not your product. This talk clarified that simple difference between companies that inspire action and companies that don't.
"The goal is not to do business with everybody who needs what you have, the goal is to do business with people who believe what you believe."
What do YOU believe as a business? Why do YOU do what you do? And most importantly, are you effectively sharing that with the world?
After watching this talk I was inspired to look at my own business and reflect on why I do what I do, and to question whether I carry that feeling over to the clients I have and the clients I want to have?
Here are 3 questions you can ask yourself today to better communicate and inspire your current and future clients/customers:
1. What drives your business?
2. What are your core values?
3. Why do you love what you do?
You started your business for a reason, and it's time to share that reason with the world!
